Administrative Program Assistant

Non-profit environmental education foundation located in Washington, DC and Accokeek, MD seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated team player who genuinely believes in personal environmental responsibility to be our full-time administrative program assistant.

The position will provide support for both the Development Department and the Trash Free Potomac Watershed Initiative program. The ideal candidate will be able to work both independently and as part of a team, as well as be flexible and comfortable working in a fast-paced work environment. This position will be full-time position with benefits and will require occasional nights and weekends.

Duties will involve tasks of a highly administrative nature to include scheduling; coordinating, assisting and collaborating with staff on projects; assist with data entry and list management; various office-type tasks as well as serving as key communication link for staff, vendors, visitors and constituents.

Qualifications: The successful candidate must have prior administrative experience; possess a positive attitude and initiative; be highly organized with excellent oral and written communication skills. Proficiency working with MS Office Suite and databases is essential. An added plus but not a requirement is a basic environmental knowledge and familiarity with the Potomac River Watershed.

Salary: $25,000 per annum plus benefits.

Alice Ferguson Foundation Development Associate

The Alice Ferguson Foundation seeks a fund-raising associate that will be able to develop positive relationships with individual donors, foundations and corporations. This individual will assist the Director of Development to manage and implement all aspects of a comprehensive development program.

Organizational skills and a thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office are critical to success in this position. The Development Associate will manage contact information, track donors and prospects and oversee and implement sponsor and donor stewardship efforts.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree. Must have excellent attention to detail, communication, writing, computer and interpersonal skills. Experience with data entry and database management a plus. The Associate will be expected to work independently and be a results oriented person.

Salary: $25,000 per annum plus benefits.
