Stream Waders

Like to look for critters in creeks? Maryland Department of Natural Resources needs volunteers to take part in the Stream Waders program. This program provides valuable information on stream health through the monitoring of benthic macroinvertebrates. To join in the fun, you must attend a one-day training and commit to two days of sampling in the spring season. Did you know that Monarch Butterflies travel 3,000 miles from the DC Metro area to Mexico? There are many unanswered questions about the monarch migration, and Monarch Watch needs your help to answer them! Global Garlic Mustard Field Survey

If your Alien Invaders field study sparked your interest in exotic invasive species, this might be the volunteer project for you! The National Science Foundation is sponsoring a nationwide survey through the Global Invasions Research Coordination Network to research Garlic Mustard.
