2002 Winter Teacher Workshops

Clear you calendar and get ready to have a great time while learning how to prepare your students for a field study in the park. At each workshop you will complete all the pre- and post-field study activities, explore the BTW web site, learn how to upload data collected by your students in the field, and find answers to any questions you may have about each BTW module. You will interact with teacher colleagues and BTW staff, meet old friends and new, and become confident and comfortable fitting BTW modules into your curriculum.

Each Saturday workshop is from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM, with 7 seat-hour credits for DC public school teacher. In addition, all teachers receive a stipend of $120 per session.

You can sign up for any or all of these workshops by downloading the mail-in/FAX form. Mail the form to Bridging the Watershed, 2001 Bryan Point Rd., Accokeek, MD 20607 or fax to 301-292-8201. You can also call the BTW office at (301) 292-8757 or send an email to Nancy Smaroff.

March 9, 2002 - Alien Invaders: Assessing Exotic Invasive Species

March 23, 2002 - Watershed Watchdogs: Assessing water Quality

2002 Winter Ranger Workshops

BTW is offering a Ranger Workshop for the BTW modules (Water Canaries, Watershed Watchdogs, Don’t Get Sedimental and Talkin'Trash). Through the course of the workshops, rangers will learn how the BTW field studies are conducted in the national parks by participating in a field study led by the BTW educators.
