partner Alma Smith, chemistry teacher at Surrattsville High School in Prince
Georges County, is featured on the web page of the Triangle Coalition
for Science and Technology Education for her role as Master Teacher in the INTEL
Teach to the Future program. The primary responsibility of the Master Teacher
is to train twenty teachers in the ICT (Institute for Computer Technology) curriculum

| BTW Director Nancy Smaroff, and BTW partner Dr. Hays B. Lantz Jr., Science Coordinator for the Prince Georges County School System, were honored this fall by the Maryland Association of Science Teachers (MAST). Nancy was recognized for outstanding contributions to school science education in 2001, and H. B. Lantz for administration. At a ceremony at the annual joint conference with the Maryland Association of Math Teachers, held in Howard County, Maryland, this past October, they were presented with engraved crystal apples and plaques. | |||||||||||||
