Ed Dieterle, Teacher, Northwestern HSMy name is Ed Dieterle and I have been a chemistry teacher at Northwestern High School in Hyattsville, Maryland for the past seven years. I was first introduced to the Bridging the Watershed Project during its inception in July 1998. Since then, my science classes and I have completed the "Watershed Watchdogs" module in many of DC's national parks. I have greatly enjoyed the opportunities and friendships I have made over the years and truly believe that this project has been an invaluable part of my students' science education.

Next fall I am beginning my doctoral work at Harvard University's School of Learning and Teaching. My studies in Learning and Teaching will focus on the implications of the new technologies for learning, teaching, and schooling. My advisor is Dr. Christopher Dede, the Timothy E. Wirth Professor in Learning Technologies and the Chair of Learning and Teaching. His groundbreaking work in emerging technologies and distance learning is one of the strongest reasons for my selecting Harvard.

On a different note, I am also very excited to say that my fiancé will begin work on her MBA at Boston University this fall, too. She and I will be living in downtown Boston.

My current county email address edieterl@pgcps.org will remain active after my departure from the area.
