Over 10,000 students visit Hard Bargain Farm each school year, and each one brings their own lunch. All those lunches leave a lot of trash at the farm, so we try to encourage our visitors to bring as little trash in their lunches as possible.
Many fifth grade classes that visit us talk about packing trash free lunches before they come, and to see how they do, we measure their lunch trash and record the information on the Lunch Trash Data Sheet. This data can be used to compare the trash brought by different schools, and can be used to figure out how much trash we are sending to the landfills.
Find your school on the 2007-2008 Lunch Trash Data Sheet to see how trash free your class is, then check out the data from previous years to see if your school improved!
