Can accommodate up to 40 volunteers. Restroom facilities available. Site may not be suitable for young children, elderly, or disabled volunteers. The channel is lined with rip rap that is secured with chain link. Volunteer will navigate the rip rap to pick up trash. Volunteers should wear boots or other shoes to get secure footing.

Directions to Daingerfield Island: Directions to Daingerfield Island coming from Maryland via the Woodrow Wilson Bridge: Take the first exit off 495 in Virginia - Exit 1A up to stop light. At the stop light, turn left onto Washington Street. Continue North on Washington Street for approximately 2 to 3 miles. The entrance to Daingerfield Island will be on your right after passing through the City of Alexandria. After turning into Daingerfield Island, make the first right after crossing the Mount Vernon Trail. Follow the road to the parking lot where parking should be available.
Directions to Daingerfield Island using the George Washington Memorial Parkway: *Note: You are traveling south if the Potomac River is on your left and north if the Potomac River is on your right. Follow the George Washington Memorial Parkway south towards the Ronald Reagan Airport if coming from I-395 or McLean, VA. You will see a couple of signs for Daingerfield Island and they will advise you to turn left into Daingerfield Island. After turning into Daingerfield Island, make the first right after crossing the Mount Vernon Trail. Follow the road to the parking lot where parking should be available. Follow the George Washington Memorial Parkway north towards the Ronald Reagan Airport if coming from Mount Vernon Estates and Gardens, Fort Hunt, or I-235. The entrance Daingerfield Island will be on your right several miles north on the George Washington Memorial Parkway. After you actually pass through the City of Alexandria, Daingerfield Island will be on your right and you should see signs further up the George Washington Memorial Parkway directing you to turn right. After turning into Daingerfield Island, make the first right after crossing the Mount Vernon Trail. Follow the road to the parking lot where parking should be available.
Directions to Four Mile Run - end of Commonwealth Avenue: Address: 3700 Commonwealth Ave From Route 1 (Jeff Davis Hwy), turn west onto E. Glebe Rd, turn right onto Commonwealth Ave. Parking on left before end of road. Walk to end of round-about to meet group for cleanup.
Directions to Hunting Terrace on Hunting Creek: From MD: Take 495 South over the Woodrow Wilson Bridge into Virginia and exit at #177, Route 1 North. Merge onto Rt. 1 North and turn right on Franklin Street. Follow Franklin Street to South Washington St. Turn right on South Washington St. Take a right at the Hunting terrace apt Buildings located across the street from Hunting Towers and just before the bridge over Cameron Run.
