Celebration on the Potomac
The Flagship Maryland 250 Gathering
An Evening Along the River That Shaped Maryland
History. Art. Stewardship. Community.
Celebration on the Potomac is the signature gathering of the Land as Home. Land as Muse. Land as Teacher.
Maryland 250 series — an immersive evening where history, creativity, and environmental stewardship converge.
This is not a ballroom gala.
The land is the venue.
The river is the backdrop.
The story is ongoing.
The Experience
Join us for a unique evening where guests will explore curated stations across the Foundation’s historic riverside campus, each offering a different window into the stories that have shaped this landscape.
Along the way, you will encounter the region’s agricultural and environmental history, the vibrant artistic legacy of the WPA era, reflections on the evolution of environmental education, and the ongoing work of stewardship along the Potomac River.
Local culinary offerings and regional wines and beverages will be thoughtfully woven throughout the experience, inviting guests to gather, explore, and celebrate the land that continues to inspire this community.
Why it Matters
For generations, this land has served as a gathering place, creative refuge, working farm, and outdoor classroom.
