About Us

The Alice Ferguson Foundation connects people to nature through hands-on environmental education, outdoor experiences, and community stewardship. Each year, thousands of students explore the natural world through immersive learning, while volunteers help protect and restore local ecosystems through cleanup events and conservation projects.

For generations, we have inspired curiosity, environmental responsibility, and a deeper connection to the outdoors.

Our Mission

The Alice Ferguson Foundation’s mission is to inspire environmental stewardship by giving people the tools to understand, appreciate, and protect nature. Established in 1954, we are a public charity chartered in the state of Maryland.
