An Evening With The Artists

Opening Reception for Land as Muse
Featuring Cynthia Rudzis, Nicole Bourgea, and artists from the Land as Muse exhibition

Purchase Maryland 250 Bundle

This reception is available exclusively to Maryland 250 Bundle ticket holders.

About the Reception

Join us for an evening celebrating the connection between art, landscape, and community with members of the Accokeek Artists Alliance and regional artists featured in the Land as Muse exhibition.

The reception will highlight four newly commissioned stained glass panels by Cynthia Rudzis, created for the Gwendolyn Cafritz Living Building, as well as a newly completed mural by Nicole Bourgea on the Pavilion wall. Inspired by the landscapes of the Potomac River region, these works reflect the dynamic relationship between art, light, and the natural environment.

Rudzis and Bourgea will offer brief remarks before introducing fellow exhibiting artists. Guests are invited to explore artwork throughout the Cafritz Building, meet the artists, and engage in conversation about the creative process and the landscapes that continue to inspire their work.

What to Expect

Guests will have the opportunity to:

  • View the stained glass panels created by Cynthia Rudzis
  • Experience Nicole Bourgea’s mural on the Pavilion wall
  • Explore artwork featured in the Land as Muse exhibition
  • Meet the artists and hear about their creative inspiration
  • Enjoy light refreshments and beverages while mingling with fellow guests

Designed as a relaxed gathering, the reception encourages conversation, curiosity, and connection through art.

Nature has nurtured the human need to create art since the dawn of our collective existence.

Cynthia Rudzis, Blue Dog Art Glass
