Employee Spotlight: Theresa Cullen

How long have you worked at the Alice Ferguson Foundation?
Since August 2019

What is your position at the Foundation?
Executive Director

What did you do before coming to AFF?
I worked as a Head of School at an International School in Switzerland.

Why do you love working at AFF?
I enjoy being part of outdoor education and programming for youth in our area.

I attended Camp Schmidt in sixth grade so I am glad to continue the work with Prince George’s County Public Schools and expand our impact to other surrounding school divisions.

What is your favorite spot on the property?
My favorite spot on the property is the wet meadow.  

What do you do in your free time away from AFF?
I have two teenagers that keep my busy as well as looking after my dog, Hazel.

What is your favorite outdoor activity?
Going on walks with my dog.

Why do you feel it’s so important to educate others about the environment?
Being in the environment is critical for one’s mental and physical heath. Everyone should have access to and appreciation of nature, for the sake of our Earth and it’s future.
