Employee Spotlight: Elizabeth Johnson

Our Events and Office Coordinator ensures our day-to-day operations and events run effectively and smoothly. We appreciate her stellar organization and get-the-job-done mentality. Get to know Elizabeth in our monthly employee spotlight series:

How long have you worked at AFF?
I joined AFF at the beginning of June 2022.

What do you do at AFF?
I am the Events and Office Coordinator. I am the point of contact for Event Rentals. I also coordinate the office space as well as a mixture of other things as needed.

What did you do before coming to AFF?
I was the First Music Coordinator at Levine Music. I still teach voice on the side, but I taught early childhood music and managed the program.

Why do you love working at AFF?
I honestly love being closer to my house after years of driving into DC proper. It’s also a much more relaxing job and atmosphere.

What is your favorite spot on the property?
The Grape Arbor or Pergola attached to the farmhouse. I eat lunch out there when the weather is nice. The view is incredible from that spot!

What do you do in your free time away from AFF?
My husband and I love to hike and visit new places. I also am an avid video gamer and can be found playing with my friends online most evenings.

What is your favorite outdoor activity?
I love hiking and biking. My husband and I are always looking for parks to walk in.

Why do you feel it’s so important to educate others about the environment?
Because we only have one inhabitable world to live on. If we are not good stewards of our world, we will lose the things that make it special and beautiful.
