Join us for Science in the Great Outdoors!

Join the Alice Ferguson Foundation’s summer training so you can bring your students for hands-on outdoor investigations focused on our Potomac watershed. This year’s two-day training will be held on July 11th and 12th. The first day of the training will be virtual via Google Meet and the second day will be held in-person at Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens in Washington, DC.

With training, teachers can bring their students for outdoor field studies at select National Parks throughout the region.

Bridging the Watershed Teacher/Ranger Training Registration

Thank you for your interest in Bridging the Watershed, a partnership program between the Alice Ferguson Foundation and the National Park Service designed to bring middle and high school students into their local National Parks and participate in scientific field studies. Expect To:

  • Gain access to the Bridging the Watershed curriculum so you can get your students outside for a hands on science experience in a National Park.
  • Watershed education opportunities include learning about human impact on the watershed through studies on chemistry, litter, invasive species, sustainability, and macroinvertebrates.
  • Curriculum includes pre- and post-field study activities along with action project guidance so that you can use the curriculum to help your students complete a Meaningful Watershed Education Experience.
  • Attend a fun & engaging training program!
