Volunteer With Us
Join the Alice Ferguson Foundation in making a tangible difference in our environment. Whether you’re seeking to fulfill Student Service Learning (SSL) hours, connect with nature, or contribute to community well-being, we offer diverse volunteer opportunities tailored to your interests and schedule.
Volunteer Opportunities
- Potomac River Watershed Cleanup: Since 1989, our Annual Potomac River Watershed Cleanup has united over 170,000 volunteers across Maryland, Virginia, Washington, D.C., West Virginia, and Pennsylvania. Together, we’ve removed more than 8 million pounds of trash from the Potomac River and its tributaries, safeguarding vital habitats and promoting public health. This flagship event not only cleans our waterways but also informs policies like D.C.’s “Bag Law,” demonstrating the power of collective action.
- Farm & Facilities Support: Assist with gardening, animal care, or maintenance tasks at our Hard Bargain Farm, contributing to our educational programs.
- Administrative Assistance: Help with office tasks, data entry, or event planning, supporting the foundation’s daily operations.
